Surf Reef Update

Following a boat propeller hit in 2011, Bournemouth Borough Council is advising people not to use the reef.  Regular condition surveys of the reef are carried out to ensure that the structure remains stable. The Council also believes the missing bag was struck by a boat and they have an insurance claim pending based on that belief.  The Council are still in a contractual obligation with ASR Ltd which requires them to replace two containers and make additional repairs to the Reef. ASR remain aware of the required timescales within which they are contracted to complete these works.
